Who would have ever imagined the day when the church, the body of Christ, would not be gathering together in-person to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday? Yet, here we are, at another unprecedented milestone. But that does NOT mean the body of Christ cannot come together and celebrate.
Consider that the church "online" has the potential to reach more people than we ever could by filling our worship centers, even using multiple services. One church, in a town no larger than Terrell, can reach people not just in our town, but all around the planet. The potential is hundreds upon hundreds, into the thousands and even millions. But the key will be the same one as if we were seeking to fill our worship center - letting others know and inviting them. Will you use digital tools to help promote and invite? Words such as Like, Love, Share, Comment and Post. Invite the world to join us this Sunday online as we celebrate resurrection on Easter Sunday.
NOTE: In observance of guidelines and orders issued by our governmental leaders, we are currently not having on-site Sunday School, worship, or other activities until such restrictions are lifted. We want to be sure we are doing our part as good citizens to support control of this disease. Regrettably, this is impacting how we will be observing Easter/Resurrection Sunday. But it does not impact WHY we are celebrating. While we regret not being able to gather with our church family and other churches in our community, this doesn't mean we can't celebrate the wonder of what these are about as we gather as families in our individual homes as well as online as the family of God.
We will continue to broadcast live for worship as well as Sunday School/LifeGroups. The Sunday School/LifeGroup lesson will be on Facebook Live beginning at 9:30 a.m. and include interactive elements so viewers can ask questions, share comments, or prayer needs online. The worship broadcast will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Facebook Live as well as LiveStream. You can also listen to the worship broadcast on KYPK radio 1570 AM/102.5 FM.
Links for the Facebook Live and LiveStream broadcasts are available from the home page of our website (fbcterrell.org). The URL for our Facebook page is facebook.com/FirstBCTerrell. The URL for the LiveStream worship broadcast livestream.com/fbcterrell.
DVDs of the worship service are available for "drive-by" pick-up in the early part of each week. These are in a clear tote bin under the covered drive by the corner of N. Catherine and W. College Streets.
Even though we aren't gathering, our desire is to continue to be light, salt, hope, and encouragement to our neighbors and community. We are to be a people of peace and assurance who are dependent upon our Lord, knowing He holds all things in His hands. Please continue to pray for our
church, community, state, nation, and world. Look around you for those who could use some help or encouragement. What opportunities to
serve might these events offer to “be Jesus” to others?
