Worship & Bible study- 7:00pm

FBC Terrell's Student Ministry is led by our student pastor, JP Black.

At FBC Terrell our Student Ministry believes that God is working in the students of today and that a revival is on its way. The sole purpose of FBC Terrell's Student Ministry is to further the Kingdom of Christ in our schools and communities in and around Terrell, Texas. We firmly believe that this generation of students will change the world with the advancement of the Gospel.

We do build up and encourage our students with worship at FBC Terrell in The Refuge every Wednesday night at 7:00pm. We work to equip and disciple each student through Life Groups Sunday mornings at 9:15 in The Refuge. Then we ask each student to be the hands and feet of Christ in their homes, with their friends and family, at school and wherever the Lord would lead them.

FBC Terrell student ministry exists to love God, love students and make disciples of Jesus Christ. We are helping students in grades 6-12 lay a foundation in their life now that will allow them to build on to follow Jesus for the rest of their life. We long to see God heal, redeem and free students as they trust Jesus personally as God births something beautiful and redemptive in this broken world through their surrendered lives as they bear witness to the goodness of Jesus throughout the world.

"Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." - 2 Corinthians 5:20-21

"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wiseman who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” - Matthew 7:24-27

Resurgence is our Junior High and High School Student Ministry here at First Baptist Church Terrell and is designed specifically for students in grades of 6-12th. The idea and purpose behind RESURGENCE  is to prepare each student to know and proclaim the Gospel and to be equipped to share their faith. Being able to share their faith with others and the good news of the Gospel that has changed and will continue to change their lives.

We firmly believe that Resurgence is a time for students to form a life built on the firm foundation of the gospel of Jesus Christ in order to follow Him for the rest of their lives.

In today's ever changing culture and society it is important for each of us to hold on to our own faith and work out our own salvation as Paul describes it. If we try to hold on to something that is not ours, it will fail us. Leaving us to be tossed back and forth. We want the students of FBC Terrell to see that the things of the world will never satisfy and fulfill, only Jesus does, and he is worthy of all glory, honor and praise.

Philippians 1:27 is the verse we want to embody, live, and send out our students with to change the world for the sake of Jesus. Paul writes "Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel," We want to train and equip students to live out the gospel, and that their life and all that they do would only be worthy of just that.

Resurgence is every Wednesday night from 6:00pm-8:00pm in The Refuge.

In the Spring of 2021 we will be doing a verse-by-verse deep dive into 1 Peter. This study will take us from January all the way into May. The hope of this study is that students and adults will see the hope that we have in the gospel of Jesus as we  witness to his love and grace even in the midst of persecution. Those who are in Jesus can enjoy all the riches of God's grace and promises in this life through the death and resurrection of Jesus as because of that truth, we will surely experience and enjoy eternal salvation by God's grace.

The  Refuge is where we gather to meet on Sunday mornings at 9:15 and on Wednesday evenings at 7:00. The Refuge is a safe place for students from any background to come together to fellowship, worship and grow. The Refuge is a good place to come for a cup of coffee, a game of madden, a place for study, fellowship, and worship. All students are always welcome in the Refuge and will feel at home when they are here.

COVID-19 Response

At FBC Terrell we want to ensure you that your safety is a priority for us. In order to ensure your safety during all Youth activities, we highly recommend you wear a face mask, continually sanitize your hands and choose to love your neighbor well. We have hand sanitizing stations all throughout the ROC and upstairs in the Refuge for students to utilize. We also have disposable face masks available should you need one.

Resurgence Student ministry app

A great way to keep up with everything we have going on is by downloading the Resurgence Student Ministry App. Through this app you will be able to receive weekly notifications and keep up with the weekly schedule. It is a great for parents and students alike to communicate about what is coming up or what this past weeks sermon was about. The Resurge App is available in both The App Store and Google Play.
