Kids Sunday School video for 9.20.20

This lesson, "Jesus' Hard Teachings" looks at some people Jesus upset as He explained about who He was, His role, and what it takes to be forgiven of our sin. The lesson comes from John 6:52-69. This lesson tracks with the adult lesson in our Online Facebook Live broadcast which is at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday morning.

first family church

First Family Church has been a great time for our families with children to get together for worship and fun learning activities in family-units in a well-spaced setting. Recognizing that some families may not be able to join us at this point, we have made this week's session elements available here so more families can join us virtually.

Downloads for learning activities are included under the "Jesus Raised Lazarus" video.

FBC Terrell Kids

At FBC Kids  we want  your kids to know, love, and follow Christ with all their hearts in a fun, safe environment for Preschoolers to Preteens.

Sunday School

At First Baptist we celebrate the fact that even the youngest child can learn about the love of Jesus so we offer Sunday to Preschoolers from birth to age 4, in addition to our K – Grade 5 classrooms. Screened, trained, caring adults help your kids learn the truths of the Bible in a fun, loving environment.

Sunday School begins promptly at 9:15 a.m.  Please plan on arriving early to check in your children so they won’t miss even one minute of fun and learning!

Nursery and Preschool

During Sunday morning worship our facility is staffed by both childcare staff and volunteers from our congregation who love children and want to provide quality care for our youngest so their families can worship together knowing their children are well cared for.

For Sunday School each classroom is staffed by two or more volunteer teachers who are prepared each Sunday to teach the children age-appropriate Bible Truths specifically:
Church is a safe and happy place.
I am loved at church.
God is big.
Jesus loves me.
The Bible is a special book.

For Sunday evenings, Wednesday activities, and other planned activities our Nursery facilities are staffed by our very special paid childcare staff.  Our staff consists of trained, screened, and committed women who have a special relationship with each child who comes in their care. Their tenure and dependability are greatly appreciated and highly valued.

Nursery and preschool care through age 4 (before Sept. 1st of the current school year) is provided for all scheduled worship and church activities.

All individuals, paid or volunteer must complete our Child Protection Training Course and submit to a back-ground check before they are allowed to participate in Preschool or KIDministries.

Crew 252

Crew 252 is our Wednesday evening kids club. We want our kids to live the reality of the Bible, to see that they are created to serve our Heavenly Father, and to find joy in doing it! Crew 252 is designed to provoke discovery and invite kids into a new understanding of how to grow in relationship with Jesus. It is based on Luke 2:52, "And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man." (ESV).

Our club meeting are split into three groups: Lesson and Bible verse memorization, Crews, and game time. Each month kids will choose a new crew.  They can choose from Snap It (photography), Grow It (gardening), Make It (crafts), or Cook It (cooking and baking).  In each crew our kids will be creating something to serve a purpose either in the church, or in the community.  Each crew's items will be either sold for donations, or given to charities.  All proceeds will go to the Bucket Ministry. This is a great ministry that helps provide people with clean water and uses relationships built to tell people about Jesus.  You can find out more about the Bucket Ministry here

We will also have two Saturday service opportunities during the year, one in the fall and one in the winter. More info to come.

Our Crew 252 club meets from 6:15 to 7:45 pm in our Recreation Outreach Center (ROC) located at 100 W. Brin Street. Crew 252 is for children in Kindergarten-5th grade

Upward Basketball & Cheerleading

Upward is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for boys and girls pre-k through fourth grade.

Emphasis is placed on “Christlikeness” and good sportsmanship—not championships and trophies.

Our season begins in the late fall, with games played during January & February.

Upward seeks to strengthen children and their families by:

  • Maximizing the family schedule by having only one practice and one game each week,
  • Facilitating an atmosphere of sportsmanship by not keeping score or league rankings,
  • Allowing the coaches to focus on ministering, instead of game strategy,
  • By having a set substitution system that allows all players equal playing time and game starts, and
  • By maximizing ministry opportunities by exposing participants & spectators to Scripture-based halftime devotions.

Frequent questions for Upward.

Can my child play on the same team as his/her friend?-We do our best to link players and coaches with requests.

Can I request specific nights for my child not to practice?- Teams practice one a week on Tuesday or Thursday evenings. When registering you can specify if one of those days does not work for you.

Is this league coed?- We do our very best to have gender specific leagues, however, this depends on the number of players signed up.

Do I have to pay at registration? No. You may in office, or online at the website, or at the Evals.

How many evals are there? We have at least three evals on varied days and times.

Does my child receive a uniform and is that extra?- Full uniforms  are part of the cost associated with Upward.

When and where are games played?-  Games are played on Saturday mornings at our FBC Terrell Recreation Outreach Center (ROC) located on the corner of W. Brin and N. Frances Streets.
