Resurgence-an increase or revival after a period of little activity, popularity, or occurrence

At Resurgence Student Ministry we believe that God is working in the students of today and that a revival is on its way. The sole purpose of Resurgence is to further the Kingdom of Christ in our schools and communities in and around Terrell, Texas.

We do build up and encourage our students with Worship at Resurgence in The Refuge every Wednesday Night at 6:15pm. Work to equip and disciple each student through Life Groups Sunday Mornings at 9:30 in The Refuge and Small Groups on 2nd & 4th Sunday Nights at 5:30pm in the Refuge. Then we ask each Student to be the hands and feet of Christ through service on Every 3rd Sunday night with Random Acts of Kindness.

Junior High Ministry

SHIFT

SHIFT is our Junior High Student Ministry here at First Baptist Church Terrell and is designed specifically for Students in grades of 6-8th. The idea and purpose behind SHIFT is to prepare each student to know and proclaim the Gospel. We want each student to SHIFT into their own faith. Being able to share their faith with others and the good news of the Gospel that has changed and will continue to change their lives.

SHIFT is rooted in the passage from the Apostle Paul in Philippians 2:12-13

"Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much ore in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure."

In today's ever changing culture and society it is important for each of us to hold on to our own faith and work out our own salvation as Paul describes it. If we try to hold on to something that is not ours, it will fail us. Leaving us to be tossed back in forth.

SHIFT is Every Wednesday Night from 6-7pm in The Refuge.

The Refuge

REFUGE-a condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or trouble.

The Refuge is our local gathering place every Sunday and Wednesday. The purpose of The Refuge is to be a place of safety for our students and student leaders. A place to grab a cup of coffee, read a book, play Giant Jenga, or just fellowship together in Worship.

The Refuge is open every Sunday morning at 9:30am for Sunday School and at 5:30pm for Small Groups that evening. Resurgence takes place each Wednesday night at 6:15pm where we worship, study the word, play games, and eat a meal together.

Senior High Ministry

CHARGE

CHARGE is the Senior Ministry at First Baptist Church Terrell. Meeting every Wednesday night from 7-8pm in the Refuge. Charge is designed specifically for 9-12th grade students to understand the commission or "CHARGE" they have according to the Gospel. We believe each follower of Christ has the call and commission to go and make disciples of all nations, no just pastors and missionaries. So we want each student to have an understanding of their faith, proclaiming a faith and salvation that is theirs in Christ Jesus.

We believe the key to revival in out world is in the hands of our Savior and those he has called, and many of those are students. So we our students in Resurgence to go and take CHARGE. By loving their classmates and teachers, serving their church and community, and sharing the hope that they have. "

The Mission and Purpose of CHARGE is found in James 1:22-25.

"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of there word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing."

OUR MISSION

We are on a rescue mission to find people who are not following Jesus. So we can lead them to start following Jesus.

"Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. for our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." - 2 Corinthians 5:20-21
